Social Responsability

MAGBAN performs its social charitable aid through frequent donations to social, religious and philantropic institutions located in neighboring communities.

 

It grants social and legal benefits, and thus providing for the improvement of its personnel´s quality of life.

 

The Human Resources department fosters the corporate volunteer work, and  the Magban employees are invited to exert their citizenship through actions of social interest in community institutions.

 

MAGBAN also invests in the appreciation and development of its personnel, aiming at making their work ambience healthier and more fruitful. For such, it develops actions leading to wellfare, motivation, and professional capacity of its team. The Humanization of the Work Environment Program offers the employees more integration among the several areas of the company, making their workplace more motivating.

 

Plus, there is the CLICK program, which aims at stimulating creativity, assuring the innovative spirit of the company, through the recognition, valuing, and awarding of the ideas that contribute to the implementing, reviewing, improvement and / or cost reduction of whatsoever work process.

 

Environmental Responsibility

The MAGBAN group companies work within the established norms of the ruling environmental organs. Thus, procedures that aim at ensuring harmony among its activities and environment  are implanted, in order to minimize the impacts caused in its plants, from the point where mineral research begins, to that of the final phase of industrialization.

 

Below, follow common observations adopted by the MAGBAN group companies:

 

• Adequate deprivation of the organic layer which was removed by interventions, for later use in the revegetaion when the put down area is recovered.
• Straining of pluvial water.
• Preservation and deployment of the ciliary woods within the area of influence of the licenced activities.
• Protection of the Permanent Preservation Areas.
• Deployment of the Solid Residues Management Plan, generated by the mining activities.
• Insertion of the Wastewater Management Plan, as the material is dangerous and contaminated, due to the mining activities.
• Implantation of the PRAD (BARP- Blighted  Areas Recovery Plan), with the recovering of the mined area, through the topographic recomposition and revegetation, simultaneously performed along with the Mine Closing Plan.
• Continuous monitoring of the recovered areas.
• Insertion of the Solid Residues Management Plan generated in the industrial plants, with adequate and licenced final destination.
• Deployment of the Managemente Plan, with the treatment of the Ornamental Rock Processing Mud (LBRO), imposed on the industrial plants through the planten filter. Filtro prensa
• Final destination of the LBRO into the duly licenced storage.

 

In order to reach such aims, the group counts on  the supervision of the Mining Engineering Department, with its qualified professionals, who act in the deployment, adequacy, supervision, and monitoring of the necessary measures to achieve harmony amongst the impacting activities and the environment.

 

Every now and then, the group holds seminaries where all of its employees, in their  related areas, participate, so that the concepts, procedures and diversified rules are continuously emphasized, recycled and updated.
