Platinus is a marine-origin quartzite approximately 900 million years old, formed from sediments deposited on the floor of an ancient ocean. During the intense tectonic movements that led to the formationof the Gondwana supercontinent, these materials were compressed and transformed into a highly cohesive stone, marked by laminated and cross-bedded strata that preserve the memory of the sea’s movement during its formation.
With its gray tone and subtle bluish nuances, Platinus presents a sophisticated, dynamic aesthetic created by its composition rich in quartz, muscovite, and, occasionally, kyanite. Its natural movement varies according to the block cut and depositional history, making every slab unique.
The quarry reveals three main variations: Platinus, Platinus Light, and Blue Moon, distinguished by the intensity of their colorand translucency. A material that brings together beauty, exclusivity, and the strength of geological history in every detail.
Finish: Polished, brushed, honed, sandblasted, and others.
Applications: Commercial and residential, interiors, walls, countertops, panels, tables, kitchens, partitions, bathrooms, and general decorative applications.
